About

The 2026 FIFA World Cup marks the first time the tournament is championing a human rights legacy. Each host city submitted a plan to FIFA detailing how they would protect workers, ensure fair housing, promote inclusion, and more. Host city organizing committees are now bringing those commitments to life, but their work is set to wrap up Fall 2026. That’s where Beyond Soccer FC comes in—partnering with host cities to help these initiatives take root and thrive long after 2026.

Beyond Soccer helps host cities implement their human rights legacies after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

About the Founder

My passion for soccer has evolved to using soccer as a tool to improving communities.

As an undergraduate student at Washington University in St. Louis, I leveraged my International and Area Studies major and African & African American Studies minor to study abroad in Cape Town and publish my research findings on African football fandom amongst black African men. During my graduate studies in Social Work, I collaborated with Berlin-based soccer NGO Champions Ohne Grenzen to further understand how they use soccer to assimilate refugees into society. I also conducted an independent study in St. Louis, understanding the potential community impact of the St. Louis Major League Soccer expansion team. And as a community engagement manager at a fintech startup, I learned my project management trade. All these skills helped formulate what is Beyond Soccer for the Community (Beyond Soccer FC).
